JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE WATCHING ME THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME A PARANOID

I've been driven to write this blog by what I feel are the ever increasing encroachments upon our lives by the seemingly never ending introduction of 'security measures' and consequently, the function that security has come to play in everyday our everday lives.

To my mind life in the 21st C. has been blighted by these accelerating authoritarian policies and dictats and we are in danger of losing the sense and value of our lives, and the lives of others that, we once held so preciously perhaps less than a decade ago here in the Western World

.My detractors are bound to say that such measures have been put in place in order to preserve and protect the very values that I fear to have been eroded. Civil society for want of a better term. And being a Londoner who has friends in both New York and Madrid I am only too well aware of the extent some people will go to in order to turn my world upside down and do harm to the people and places I love.
However, I truly believe that now things are being taken to far and that we are suffocating under the weight of the security which is moving from the justifiable realm of protection to one one where it's all about control.

Paranoid me? Surely not.
